| It is situated at the center of a plain, 1.5 km south of the Sancaktepe Village, 20 km from Bayburt. It has an altitude of 1680 m. The agricultural activities around it have almost reached to the mound on the east and south sections. Illicit diggings are observed on the hilltop. Sherds dating to the EBA and Iron Age were collected from the surface. The mound measures 20x20x5 m [Çigdem et al. 2017:161]. |
