It is situated 3.5 km northwest of the Saban Village, 24.5 km north of the Kagizman District in Kars. It has an altitude of 2230 m. Since it is the highest fortress in the region, it overlooks the Kagizman and Aras Rivers. The southern, southwestern and western sections of the fortress are surrounded by high cliffs. The northeastern and eastern sections are flatter, and the thickness of the wall in these sections are 3 m. The entrance gate of the fortress is also located here. The thickness in other sections is approximately 2-2.5 m. The walls have survived sometimes reaching up to a height of 3 m. The intramural remains are at the foundation level. The walls were supported by bastions and corner towers, and built using the dry wall technique. Housing sherds dating to the EBA and Iron Age, it apears to have been built during the EBA, and then occupied during the Iron Age.
